This year's IIFA awards will see sizzling performances by actors Shahid Kapur, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor in Macau.
The 10th edition of the festival will be attended by a host of Bollywood celebrities like Bachchan family, Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh among others.
IIFA will also see Sonam Kapoor performing for the fist time in an award function.
Priyanka and Shahid will perform on the title track of their forthcoming film 'Kameenay' at the awards function on June 13 while Kareena's performance will have Turkish-Arabian feel.
"I feel ecstatic about my show because this is the first awards function which I will perform this year. I have become choosy about why I perform. But IIFA gives me an international standing," Kareena said.
Sabbas Joseph, director of Wizcraft, the event organisers, said, "Lara Dutta will join Ritesh Deshmukh and Boman Irani to host the extravaganza."

Kites is not about sex & lust: Hrithik Roshan |
Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori are in Cannes to launch their film in front of an international audience. The couple looks delighted by the way their film has shaped up, though are a bit apprehensive about the kissing and love making scene in it.
Barbara in a thick Spanish accent admitted, “When I came to India and saw few Hindi films I realized actors here don’t kiss onscreen. They just come close and hug! I then wondered how will the audience in India accept the film as Hrithik and I have kissed and made love in the film! I told Hrithik about it and he made me feel comfortable about it. I didn’t know him before I signed Kites but I googled and searched him on You Tube. Only when I reached India and saw the massive stardom and fan following he enjoys did I realize how big a star he is.”
Hrithik added, “A lot has been said about the kissing scene in Kites but let me tell you the film is not about sex, lust, passion, animal instincts. It is a beautiful sensual love story. As far the kiss is concerned, I was trying my best to make Barbara comfortable while she in return was trying to do the same.”
The film is slated to release in India in October this year.

Loreal ‘rubbishes’ Sonam-Ash war! |
Loreal has certainly played safe post the controversy surrounding Sonam Kapoor’s canned visit to Cannes. The cosmetic giant has blamed the media saying Sonam’s certain comments were presented out of context and thus were misconstrued. One of the spokesperson on condition of anonymity revealed, “Right from the beginning it was clarified that Sonam will be the face of Loreal in India while Ash will be the international face. So there is no chance of Ash wanting Sonam to get out of the picture! Also Sonam was invited to Cannes initially but due to few of her statements which got mis-construed the company decided to not let her go as it could have escalated the matter. Ash-Sonam war is rubbish and the company is in fact looking forward to sending Sonam to Europe in near future to represent the brand.”
The May 16 th press release of Loreal, reads -
”We do not want to take part in or encourage any controversy involving our spokespeople. There were adverse reports in certain sections of media after some comments by Sonam Kapoor, which were presented out of context.
Following this, in order to avoid further escalation, we have advised Sonam not to go to Cannes as was planned earlier, bearing in mind that there would be more interesting opportunities for future appearances in Europe for her. L'Oreal is extremely mindful of protecting the image of its spokespeople, in the same way as it expects them to respect its own image. L'Oreal celebrates its 100th year of beauty this June and prides itself in the beauty and diversity of its spokespeople worldwide."
We wonder what Ash has to say on this....

'Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu' Review |
'Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu' Review: Sensible Concept
Film: Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu
Rating: 2/5
Banner: Lakshmi Ganapathi Films
Cast: Posani Krishna Murali, Gaina, Zubain Khan, Brahmanandam, Ali, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raghubabu, MS Narayana, Krishna Bhagavan, Suneel, Venu Madhav, Giribabu, Ranganath, Kondavalasa, Brahmaji, ETV Prabhakar, Pragathi, Sana etc
Lyrics: Ram Paidisetty
Music: Vandemataram Srinivas
Producers: Y Rupesh, B Subrahmanyam
Story, Screenplay, Direction: Posani Krishna Murali
Released On: 15th May 2009
‘Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu’, the product from Posani Krishna Murali attracted the attention of many for obvious reasons. His earlier films proved controversial and made rounds in media channels as top discussion when they were released. Moreover, this film was publicized to be the political satire and hence the interest levels raised high as this happens to be political season. Let us see what is shown in this flick.
Story:
Raja (Posani) is a sincere police officer who feels himself as the servant for people. He never cares for the background of any criminal but punishes severely. His attitude and behavior gets the brand ‘mental’ in his department. He punishes a politician’s family member for pouring acid on a girl’s face. He also replaces the girl’s burnt eyes with that of criminal’s. Politicians go wild on Raja and tries to keep him in trouble by not allowing any witness reach him. But Raja brings a girl Sirisha as witness for the cruel deed and punishes the criminal legally. Later both Raja and Sirisha fall in love and get married. Then the revenge drama starts from the side of politicians on Raja. He loses his job and also faces several problems. But he keeps entire corrupted government officials and politicians in trouble with a ‘chepala cheruvu’ drama. How that goes has to be watched on screen.
Performances:
Posani, although performed with his trade mark eccentric characterization, appeared far better than that of his role in Mental Krishna. Many of the scenes and dialogues are logical unlike his previous films. On a whole his energies were spread in entire film.
New face Gaina is ok and spilled enough glamour on screen. In many frames she appeared like Kousha. She has some role to perform and more to expose. She also acted boldly in a nude scene although that appeared lengthy and ‘height of extremity’ in narration.
Other actress Zubain Khan also used for glamour show and an item song along with full length performance in a vamp like character.
Other actors and actresses are ok. Coming to technical details, Vandemataram’s music is ok and there are three songs on a whole. Ram Paidireddy has penned lyrics where the duet attracted the attention with funny lyrics on Posani…’nee dare ante ishtam, nee ‘dash’ ante ishtam, nee crack ante ishtam, nee mental moththam ishtam….’. There is an item song and a playback pathos song apart from this duet.
Story is ok, concept is convincing, ideas are impressive but the narration in second half lost tempo for longer duration. The presentation could be more intact anyway.
Analysis:
It’s a film for front benchers and provokes thoughts for reserved class audiences as well. Apparently the dialogues and some scenes in this flick show sympathy and support for Chiranjeevi. Giribabu played the role that is similar to that of Chiranjeevi in real life. The topics of Srija and Nandini are also covered indirectly.
TDP’s TV Gifts to voters is also touched in a dialogue by Krishna Bhagawan.
Posani’s performance as sincere police officer with a blunt attitude and typical behavior impresses audiences. Since there is logic in the idea, many of his acts are not treated nasty. The character News TV Gajni Kanth, played by Sunil recalls the famous journalist TV9 Rajni Kanth.
First half of the movie runs with good tempo receiving the attention from audiences while the second half lost rhythm and appeared dragging. The climax scene is filled with the nude scene of lead female role which appeared eccentric and perverted. The scene lost conviction and hence pulled back the serious attention of many audiences. The weak response of audience in second half is an evidence for that.
On a whole it is a better product from Posani when compared to that of his previous films.

Shahid and Kareena in Connection |
Shahid, leave me alone: Kareena
An infuriated Kareena Kapoor suspects foul play as her name is constantly being used for Shahid's publicity
The Kareena-Shahid relationship went kaput years ago but that hasnt stopped people from linking the two, even when its unnecessary. As a result, there has been a growing feeling among family and well-wishers of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor that their names keep recurring in connection with Shahid Kapur much too often for it to be a mere coincidence. The couple, shooting a gruelling song sequence in New York , has now begun to wonder why their names, especially Kareenas , should figure so prominently in write-ups and television stories on Shahid. Could the fact that his next release is around the corner have something to do with it A close friend of Saif-Kareena said, Kareena has been quietly watching the tamaasha unfold. Lately, almost every time Shahids name cropped up she too was mentioned , and not in a positive manner. To portray her as the restless woman who jilted Shahid for Saif is so unfair . Only Kareena and Shahid know what really happened to tear them apart.
The day Kareena opens her mouth, Shahids image of injured innocence will collapse in a heap. But Kareena is not one to wash dirty linen in public. She wishes Shahid well and would like nothing better than for both of them to move on. Kareena has moved on but the same cannot be said about Shahid. The strangest part, according to the couples friend, is the aggressive attitude the usually calm and restrained Shahid has towards Saif. The source said, Recent reports on Shahid insinuate that he has done better in Vishal Bhardwajs Kaminey than Saif did in the directors Omkara. Where do these comparisons come from
Commenting on whether there is a pattern to these recurring references to Saif and Kareena in connection with Shahid, Saif said, Normally, I wouldnt go by any conspiracy theory. But this does seem a little too much. Why are Kareena and I dragged into other peoples lives If someone talks about Kaminey, then Im forced to say the role was first offered to me. But do we have to resort to this silly game of oneupmanship Were all mature adults here and we should behave accordingly.
Kareena, who has so far maintained a discreet silence on the topic of Shahids constant fascination with anything to do with her, was aghast when a television channel on Wednesday night did a detailed hour-long report on how Kareena was trying to get Shahids current love Priyanka Chopra out of his life. Barely able to control her annoyance any longer, Kareena said, Why am I being dragged into all this I dont like my name to come up in connection with other peoples lives. Ive moved on and I wish Shahid Kapur would also do so. Beyond that I dont wish to say anything. Nothing can separate Saif and me. Certainly not these silly attempts to drag me back to a past Ive left behind. Please leave us alone. Despite repeated attempts, Shahid remained unavailable for comment.
